There is power in presence. To utilize our capacity to focus. It takes a tremendous amount of work to use our brain consciously on one subject. We usually have so many thoughts, so much turmoil in our minds. The mind is a huge computer screen with so many windows/ads open. There is over 2973289 ads, each one filled with a scenario of more thoughts. We need to utilize our strength in our mind to close each window.
The only way to delete each thought is to recognize what the mind is doing. Place yourself in front of your computer and notice your ability to see outside of the all those windows (thoughts). You don’t need to click on the window and join the subscription that will open ads ( attachments to the scenarios that don’t exist anymore). Recognize the thoughts and be here, in the present time.
“ Hey thought, I see you, I know what you are doing, you are controlling my ability to be present, to enjoy things, to participate in what life has to offer”
Once you are aware of whats going on in your computer screen delete the window, so you can finally get to see the wallpaper ( the present moment, the mountain, the beautiful flower). Everything starts to brighten and become more saturated, once your eyes are open to see, feel, smell, touch whats in front of you. You’ll feel your body against the cushion you are sitting on. Taste every bite in food. Instead of eating and thinking opening more windows. There will become a point in eating that won’t be to just fill you up, it will be to enjoy each texture and taste each flavor. You will gain the ability to focus on one task for a longer period of time, instead of thinking of what to do next and never finishing.
You will give what you are working on your best effort, finding the joy in executing tasks.
Exercising won’t just be about obtaining the perfect body. It will be energizing to feel every breath in parts of your body you had no idea your breath can take you. You will feel each muscle perform every time you move another body part. Hanging out with your friends won’t just be a surface level conversation not allowing yourself to focus on listening to them speak being so lost in your mind opening more windows to clog up the screen in your brain. Your ears will open up, you will hear sounds coming from all directions. What your friends have to say will be more meaningful. Mostly due to another human being who has the same capacity you do to be able to enjoy the moment of presence.
